CPC31311 Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling

This qualification provides a trade outcome in wall and floor tiling for residential and commercial construction work, this course will allow you to be a licensed Wall and Floor Tiler. There are no prerequisite units in this qualification. All students will be required to provide the following prior to being enrolled:

  • Construction Induction White Card
  • Photo ID
Entry Requirements

Students must:

  • Be at least 15 years of age
  • Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years’ experience within tiling (if RPL)
  • Have a valid USI
  • Have an employer that provides access to regular tiling work.
Entry Requirements

To achieve the Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling, the student must demonstrate competency in the following 19 units of competency:

  • CPCCCM1012A - Work effectively and sustainably in the construction industry
  • CPCCCM1013A - Plan and organise work
  • CPCCCM1014A - Conduct workplace communication
  • CPCCCM1015A - Carry out measurements and calculations
  • CPCCCM2001A - Read and interpret plans and specifications
  • CPCCCM2006B - Apply basic levelling procedures
  • CPCCOHS2001A - Apply OHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry
  • CPCCWF2001A - Handle wall and floor tiling materials
  • CPCCWF2002A - Use wall and floor tiling tools and equipment
  • CPCCWF3001A - Prepare surfaces for tiling application
  • CPCCWF3002A - Fix floor tiles
  • CPCCWF3003A - Fix wall tiles
  • CPCCWF3004A - Repair wall and floor tiles
  • CPCCWF3006A - Carry out mosaic tiling
  • CPCCWF3007A - Tile curved surfaces
  • CPCCWP3002A - Apply waterproofing process to internal wet areas
  • CPCCCM2008B - Erect and dismantle restricted height scaffolding
  • CPCCCM2010B - Work safely at heights
  • CPCCCM3001C - Operate elevated work platforms
Delivery Methods

Students can obtain this qualification by either:

  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
  • Workplace based
Duration

The expected duration to complete this program in the workplace will be up to 18 months.

The RPL process can be completed as quickly as the student supplies all of the required evidences and accommodates the complete process. We allow 6 months for this process, however most students will complete this within 1 month.

Fees and Funding

Apprenticeship funding is currently available for this course. The standard Apprenticeship fee is $2000. For more information click here. The fees for RPL are $2950.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the program, students will be issued with a CPC31311 Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling. If the students do not complete the program, they will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for the units they have completed.
