CPC30211 Certificate III in Carpentry

This qualification provides a trade outcome in carpentry, covering work in residential and commercial applications. To be a licensed Carpenter or Joiner, you will be required to hold this qualification. There are no prerequisite units in this qualification. All students will be required to provide the following prior to being enrolled:

  • Construction Induction White Card
  • Photo ID
Entry Requirements

Students must:

  • Be at least 15 years of age
  • Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years’ experience within carpentry (if RPL)
  • Have a valid USI
  • Have an employer that provides access to regular carpentry work

To achieve the Certificate III in Carpentry, the student must demonstrate competency in the following 30 units of competency:

  • CPCCCM2008B - Erect and dismantle restricted height scaffolding
  • CPCCCM2010B - Work safely at heights
  • CPCCCO2013A - Carry out concreting to simple forms
  • CPCCOHS2001A - Apply OHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry
  • CPCCCA3003A - Install flooring systems
  • CPCCCA3004A - Construct wall frames

  • CPCCCA3006B - Erect roof trusses
  • CPCCCA3007C - Construct pitched roofs
  • CPCCCA3008B - Construct eaves
  • CPCCCA3010A - Install and replace windows and doors
  • CPCCCA3012A - Frame and fit wet area fixtures
  • CPCCCA3013A - Install lining, panelling and moulding
  • CPCCCA3014A - Construct bulkheads
  • CPCCCA3015A - Assemble partitions
  • CPCCCA3016A - Construct timber external stairs
  • BSBSMB301 - Investigate micro business opportunities
  • BSBSMB406 - Manage small business finances
Delivery Methods

Students can obtain this qualification by either:

  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
  • Workplace based
  • Blended (classroom and workplace based)
Duration

The expected duration to complete this program in the workplace will be up to 18 months.

The RPL process can be completed as quickly as the student supplies all of the required evidences and accommodates the complete process. We allow 6 months for this process, however most students will complete this within 1 month.

Fees and Funding

Apprenticeship funding is currently available for this course. The standard Apprenticeship fee is $2000. For more information click here

The fees for RPL are $2950.  The fees for blended delivery is $5000.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the program, students will be issued with a CPC30211 Certificate III in Carpentry. If the students do not complete the program, they will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for the units they have completed.
